I have about three weeks to finish up about 60 renders (interior and exterior). Is anyone using Vantage for production renders? I get pretty good results quickly, but to me, they are pre-viz quality. However, I have seen some image, that the person swears was done in Vantage, and they looked dang good. Any setting suggestions?

Do you have any tips? I was thinking about running it through AI sharpening to get rid of the softness. Are you seeing soft images come out of Vantage?Bobby Parker

I would install the latest update. It has lens glare now and some other neat features. You can also us the built-in blur and sharpen sliders to help with your issue. I pretty much set up my settings as if I was using the production renderer. .003 for noise threshold, adjust reflection/fraction and GI bounces as needed. Set my render samples between 1000 to 1500k and only denoise the last pass.

I find the settings straight out of the box work well for me in Vantage. Occasionally I have to adjust things like the opacity settings.
The post production part, like Filmic Tone Mapping, Lens Effects are brilliant too.
I echo what Luma3d says though, the images are often too sharp and clean. In post I'll soften things up a bit, add some noise and some usual adjustments.
Animations are still a bit glitchy / flickering, but I use CPU rendering for that, but as you're dealing with stills, I'd say give it a go. Rendering in minutes at 5k, rather than hours, is a big win!Dean Punchard > Head of CGI at HUB

I rendered a 4K, 2K, 2K upscaled, and Vantage, and sent it to the client.

Pardon the scene; it isn't done, but it is the current image I am working on with them, so I used it as a test.- 4K - 1 hour
- 2K - 20 minutes
- Vantage - 5 minutes
Whatcha think?Bobby Parker

Obviously the gaming 4k (vantage) looks best for the time you spent rendering it. I've also tried one of your images in topaz, it does a decent job from 2k to 4k.
