  • How to "sell" VRayRT to the higher ups?

Is there a particular video I should show my bosses to sell them the idea that VRay RT would be a good buy?

    Try these videos

These videos are pretty good for demonstrating the use and power of VrayRt.

Must tell them 'it's a waste of money' so the rest of us can get ahead.

Sacrifice yourself for your friends here IMO.

Tell them, instead of being able to change their mind at the last minute, they can now do so at the last second. :P

but seriously. I told my managers that it virtually takes the guess work out of lighting setups and that they could sit down and take part in the design process. They liked the pure fact that it saves time

The other reason is because you will save yourself $300 now and mention how long Vray has been sold without being charged for upgrades unlike other pieces of software...

Tell them they are fricking nuts if they don't buy it.

No more waiting for test renders.

Scene assembly and texture tweak time reduced by at least 200%

              Arch Viz

Does this work well for archviz?

I actually started to find it a little distracting once one of my scenes got huge (it's a pretty big exterior and interior combined.) I found myself spending more time looking at it than working. But I think for simpler scenes or for setting up it can be really useful. And I think towards the 'end' before a final render it could be very useful as well.

So yes and no. I'd much rather have it than not. And it's only bound to improve.

That goes for normal renderings too. Setting up lighting/materials just needs you to render; any interactive feedback that will show something is wrong will help you save time...

I think it works great for archviz. The RT works very well in exterior scenes to help in the lighting and material setups. Of course it also depends on the scale of the scene. I have been using it on a 15 story building and have had no serious lag with a single dual quad core pc. It has been very helpful design wise. I am saving the RT views rather than rendering and then saving them (for design purposes).

As was said before, I rather have it than not and it can only get better and better. Probably best to jump in now during the introductory price.

I do arch viz in a big company, and the way I sell things to management is always the same: it saves time, money, or improves quality.
