It will not be in a service pack, since it requires some changes to the way the RT works. It might be possible to do through a script, although I'm not sure how that would work with backburner. There are still some unclear things with the production renderer approach (e.g. what happens in the material editor), so we'll see.

    Best regards,

      Vlado,

Seems to me that it doesn't have to actually work through backburner. Couldn't it work like RT does now? -- EXCEPT one of the farm servers is designated as the 'host' so that it runs the render (meaning it advances the animation each time a frame completes). All of the other farm machines would run RT normally. They would do their distributive rendering in the same manner regardless of whether the user's workstation or one particular farm server was doing the hosting. Know what I mean?

Separate question -- right now, I gather that ATI cards won't work with RT GPU right? Is this a hardware limitation? Do we have to wait for the next batch of ATI cards? Or is it just a driver or software limitation that ATI still needs to fix?

I just have seen that Sparkle will launch a GTX460 with 2048 Mo of ram :

Could be nice for RT GPU as a have heard that a big issue is the lake of ram, for those who can't afford tesla or quadro quards.

sorry for interrupting the thread if i did, I just though I would let people know for those who didn't

Now they only need to fix their OpenCL drivers...
