  • RT Demo File too old?

    Good morning fellows!

I just wanted to give V-Ray RT a try this morning but wasn't able to use it, because the installation displayed a message

The installed version of V-Ray for 3ds Max 2009 for x64 is too old

    Strange in some way.

I've got 3ds Max 2009 and V-Ray 1.50 SP4 installed. Is there any workaround on this?

My download section only shows up V-Ray RT v 1.50.01 for download. Maybe this is the problem I'm hanging on to?

    Thanks in advance,
    toby

Would be nice to get some support on this, since we're planning to purchase V-Ray RT if it fits our needs.

    best regards,

The RT demo installation specifically checks for SP3 for V-Ray, that's why it doesn't recognize SP4. This will be corrected for the new RT demo, but in the mean time you can manually change the following registry key:
      Code:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\V-Ray for 3dsmax 2010 for x64\DisplayVersion
to be 1.50.SP3 (you'll need to replace with the exact 3ds Max version).

Alternatively, you can email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com for a newer demo version.

      Best regards,
      Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
