  • Max 2011 & Vray RT

I've been watching some of the videos off of the Autodesk website and I'm very excited about the new tools coming out, so I have to ask will Vray RT/GPU be fully compatible with these new features?

The new 3ds max 2011 looks very nice only one thing missing to make my day so beautiful some previews from Vray 2.0 please. I want to believe that Vray + RT will be full compatible with all these new features.

That's great, it's almost too much to hope for but if Max is coming out next month will we see Vray 2.0 or Vray GPU about the same time?

I have my credit card out for the new V-Ray!

Max 2011 does look nice. The first thing I thought of was interoperability with v-ray.

SP5 should come out around the time 3ds Max 2011 is released with some fixes for V-Ray and V-Ray RT. Anything else will come at some point after that

            Best regards,
            Vlado

I was talking to an autodesk person, and they said that the codes have not been broken this time, so all the plugins will work that one has with 2010.
This is good as no money involved in upgrades like the last one.

Vlado would know this as all plugin makers would have been told, i am led to believe.

Are you charging for the next update, not the fix but the vray 2.0 and the RT official release ?

A yes or no would be good to know.
IT budget have to be put in for the coming year.

Wish that Vray would work better with Hardware viewport preview! Specially IES etc etc, so far they just white dots :s

Looking forward for Vray next release! Thanx for great job.

I'll let Vlado confirm officially, but it's been mentioned several times that all updates to vray are free until the official 2.0 release.

                        well, it's labelled 2.0 for a reason, i suppose.
IT would have a hard time finding the latest bill they got from Chaos for VRay 1.x though.

V-Ray 1.5 SP5 for 3ds Max and V-Ray RT 1.5 SP2 for 3ds Max are free updates for current users.

                          V-Ray 2.0 is a paid upgrade.

                          Best regards,

Hopefully in SP5, Vray will be integrated with the new Slate material editor ? that would be really cool....
