Will these two version of RT converge into the same code? I assume it must if it will be possible to use both concurrently in the future, but right now they differ in some key areas (falloff for instance) and I wonder if you're interested in having bugs found on RT GPU being verified on standard RT as well?

We are certainly interested in any bugs you can find
As for whether the two versions will converge - maybe at some point, but not yet. The CPU version is way more advanced in terms of the shaders it can handle, and displacement and hair/fur will be coming along quite soon - something that can't be said for the GPU version.
