  • Rt time?

Right ok Bought it, cant work it!.

I can use cpu and realtime display but for most models it seems slow and much quicker for me to do a test render.
I have read lots on the forums about lot faster render times how do i do that!

machine specs 3.ghz dual 6 core machine quadro 4000 card 24 gig ram

    Thanks

Can you show me what kind of models you are trying to render?

In any case, the RT uses brute force GI always. Even though the RT is faster in this than the production renderer, a low settings light cache + irradiance map rendering might turn out to be faster overall. On the other hand, the RT shows you material/lighting changes much faster than having to wait for the production renderer to compute light cache + irradiance map + final image.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

yep i understand, just not quick enough for me yet...
our scene is a block model of some housing as a test
      35000 triangles
      2 materials both default grey/white
dome light and sun for stronger shadow

      regards

Odd, this doesn't seem too complicated. Can you get me the model to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that I can try and see if something else is wrong? Also, have you tried the GPU version?

        Best regards,

hi emailed model, GPU version is that by selecting the opencl in the pull down menu then yes. Im running two screens off of the card so may throw a wobbly/ use up some power on that.
thanks for getting back to me!.
