  • Phoenix FD with RT for 3ds Max

    Hi,
last Tuesday I visited the "third dimension"-Event of Weltenbauer in Frankfurt/Germany. One of your Choasgroup-guys showed a Pheonix FD simulation as Preview in RT based on Maya.
After the presentation I asked him if this would work with RT for Max too and he gave me the answer that it would work but perhaps only in CPU mode.
Now I´ve installed the newest stable build of Vray (Max2013) and Phoenix FD, did a sim, but in RT nothing happens. Did I do someting wrong, or doesn´t it work on RT for Max yet?

    Best regards

    Michael

This doesn't work in 3ds Max yet, although we'll get there.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

What is the current situation with this, are we able to use V-Ray RT GPU and Phoenix FD? With the upcoming Quadro K6000, it would be great to test the 12GB memory

For the latest official builds / V-Ray 2.40.04 and Phoenix 2.10.1 / GPU viewport preview is available, where fire and smoke could be visualized.
About the RT, CPU engine supports the Phoenix fluids in both simulation mode (fire and liquid). RT/GPU supports only Phoenix fluids in liquid mode with "Render as mesh" option ON.
