  • v-ray Rt not using GPUs in activeshade

    Hi All,

I'm having an issue using RT. Everything works fine when using RT as the production renderer - that is, the GPUs ramp up to 99% utilization. When I want to use activeshade the GPUs are not being used and the CPUs ramp up to 100%. Using Max 2014 and V-Ray 2.4.03

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Although this may seem obvious (and please excuse me if you checked this already), switching around from Production renderer to Active Shade renderer can produce sometimes unexpected settings. Have you checked to see that RT is still set to use CUDA when you switched over to Active Shade?

      Hi Alan,

Thanks for the reply. I had set the engine to CUDA however, I didn't realize that I needed to switch over to the activashade renderer (from the production renderer) and make that change. I was in the V-Ray Rt settings for the production renderer and assumed that those settings (CUDA engine) would carry over to the activeshade viewport.

      Thanks!

Yeah, I figured the same thing when I first used RT as the Production Renderer.

        You are most welcome!
