  • VRayRT Orthographic Modeling

Is it possible to obtain a neutrally exposed VRayRT Activeshade as I'm panning around a model in Max?
Using a camera to model is a bit of a pain as I'm used to just rotating models with the middle mouse button but it would be nice to see a model develop as I'm working on it.
Activeshade does work with non-cameras however I encounter upside-down images and exposure blowouts.

    Thanks!

For the exposure, you can try using a V-Ray exposure color correction in the 3ds Max Environment dialog, though I seem to remember some issues when switching between camera and non-camera viewports. I'm not sure that ortho views will work correctly; V-Ray RT can generally render them fine, but I don't know if we export the data properly from 3ds Max - will check it out.

    Best regards,

Perhaps an Activeshade RT Exposure slider (non-Physical Cam) in the RT dialog would be useful/more obvious to people versus going in through the Environment Exposure dialog every time.

Yes, but that adds yet another control for the same thing and more confusion...
