Does RT support the new clip maps and what not, I have a scene I am rendering, renders very fast with RT. It is an exterior, with lots of vegetation. I have a lot of bushes and trees which have modeled leaves and it renders really fast, I added some more bushes and trees that have alpha maps for leaves, the render went from 5-6min to 2hrs. I tried setting them to clip maps, but it doesn't seem that clip maps work with RT or make a difference. what can I do? I need the models with the alpha leaves.

Yes I'll send you the actual scene. What email do we send it to? I think it really needs the clip map. Alphas are really funny how much they can slow down a render. It would be great if we had something that can take the alpha map and create actual geometry from it using is outline, or even convert to geometry at rendering. That would solve all the problems. I mean displacement can kinda do that with water level right, why not just with alpha maps.

Been a while since I responded to this thread, sorry been so busy. Here is are some examples. Turning off double-sided under option in vraymtl, looks more correct to me than vray2sidedmtl material. What do you think? I do think we really need Clip Map, and other options for RT GPU, alphas are taking to long.

sorry, I should of done just passes, these are my settings:
Max time (min) 0.0
Max paths/pixels 10000
Max. Noise 0.005
But I can tell you I really think the clip maps and stochastic would really help reduce render times like with cpu. Also what did you think of the vray2sidedmtl vs turning off Double-sided, seemed DS was more accurate for some reason.
