Hiya,
As projected textures in Vray Maya don't work in CUDA I'm a bit stumped on a relatively simple task - An animated mesh that needs to be transparent at a particular point in worldspace.
Normally a simple task of using a projected opacity texture (ramp in this case).
CPU rendering is just too slow for our deadline, so I just thought I'd reach out and see if I'm missing any alternative approach - are there any VRay native nodes I've overlooked ?
( Desparate: I tried SphereFade and DistanceTex approaches quickly to see if they had quietly and magically appeared in a nightly
)
( Desperate Pt II: Material override! In refractions with a 1.0 ior transparent plane in front... works but too hard edge and obscured wrong parts too ..ugh)
other ideas?
