  • Animation Noise

    Hi

I'm rendering an exterior animation with a dome light (with a HDRi) and VRay Sun but have to admit that I can't get rid of the noise especially in the shadows.

I've read alot of threads on this forum, searched online and done alot of tests but wanted to get suggestions on what the current best method is.

Presently, I'm using BF with 10000 samples and 0.002 noise limit, the Sampler is set to Progressive. Adaptive lights is on and set to 8 with Adaptive turned on in the Dome light settings, the Texture Res is at 8192 - I'm not really sure if these have much effect. A Denoiser render pass has been added but although it helps, the noise is stronger than I thought it would be with those settings.

    Thanks

    N

Hmm can you share an example scene? 8k texture for dome light is a bit much while it may add to lighting detail it will increase noise also. About progressive rendering, you want to limit the rendering by number of subdivs and not by noise threshold or time limit. 10000 subdivs is very high and most likely it does not reach that and issue is elsewhere.
