  • Light links count exceeds the maximum supported

    Hey guys,
I'm currently rendering an archviz animation with Next GPU (Bruteforce). There are 171 lights in the scene. When starting to render I got the following warning:
Light links count exceeds the maximum supported (32767).

What does it mean? How can I fix it?

    Best,
    Olaf

The warning means that there are more light links than the currently supported maximum of 32767.

Massive amount of object instances in the scene could cause this excess number of light links, which could produce wrong rendering results.

Reducing the number of instances by combining a few geometries into a single node and afterward instance that node instead should reduce the light links as well.

Also, our developers are informed about the matter and removing the maximum amount of light links is on their to-do list.

does this mean that after 32767 objects, even with only 1 light, we might get issues? forestpack routinely generates many more instances than this..

No, it doesn't mean that. V-Ray GPU can certainly render more objects than this. The issue only happens when using light include/exclude lists in scenes with many objects and it will be fixed in an update.

        Best regards,
