  • CUDA Error after increasing Max Samples

    Hello,

    I got some CUDA Problems which has something to do with the Max subdivs in the Image Sampler

    If I setup 16 Max Samples it works, If I switch to for Example 96 Max Samples it stops rendering after maybe 1 minute (I quess it takes to long to calculate for a Bucket and then it somehow crashes.)
    Sometimes the Error Message appears:
    // Error: line 1: V-Ray : D:cgrepovraysdksamplesvray_plugins t_private t_opencl_pri(202 : CUDA error 700

    If I try to re-render it says:
    // Warning: V-Ray : initDevices() failed. Please check that your system has compatible GPU devices installed

    The "Select devices for V-Ray GPU"-App shows all the GPU's correct

    I send the Scene to the Support.

    I use:
    Vray Next for Maya, update 2 (v4.30.00 from Nov 18 2019)
    Autodesk Maya 2018.6

    I did some more research, I downgraded Graphic Card Drivers, Vray Versions and so on. The only thing which made it better was to switch from Brute Force GI to Light Cache. But still it stops rendering after a while...

      I was able to isolate my Problem.

      Looks like the "Additive mode" in the VrayBlendMaterial makes the Problem.

                Sorry to say the crash is not yet fixed. I cannot give a specific time frame for it's resolving, however, I'll inform you when there is movement on the case.
