  • Vray GPU renders darker than CPU

    Hi guys,

Im just transitioning from rendering with CPU to GPU, 1 issue im having is that the renders look much darker.

I did some search on the forums and tried changing the GI engine to Brute Force and up the GI Depth to 10, it helps a bit but its not there, even if i raise it more.

Is there a way that I can get the exact same results as CPU just so my lighting setup doesnt mess up and dont end up with inconsistencies between new and old renders?

    Thanks a lot!!

    Hi

V-Ray and V-Ray GPU are two different render engines, so switching from the one to the other would require some tweaking of your scene. Sometimes it would be fine tuning material settings, other times lighting intensity.
It's practically impossible to switch from the one to the other and get exactly the same result (except in some cases with very simple scenes).

I would suggest if you're moving on to the GPU Engine, do it at the start of a project and don't switch between engines mid-project. That's not going to work for you.
