  • unable to match any devices from environment variable Vray GPU

    Running Max 2016 and VrayNext 3.2(4.30.02 build 00001)
    Rendering with GPU worked fine yesterday.
    Today after upgrading the Nvidia drivers Vray only list my CPU in the list of GPU Render Devices.

    Message
    unable to match any devices from environment variable Vray GPU_PLATFORMS = nvidia cuda geforce gtx 1080 gpu index0;

    I have so far reinstalled Vray without any improvement.

    First of all try restarting your PC so that the driver changes have an effect. Otherwise, try opening the "vray_gpu_device_select.exe" tool (located here: C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\3ds Max 2016\bin), select your GPU devices and click on 'Set Device'. Afterward, start 3ds max and see if the issue still occurs.

    EDIT: Presuming, of course, you haven't changed your system's GPU (GTX 1080); It may also be an issue with the driver itself (with which other software using CUDA would not be able to work), re-installing it may resolve the issue
