    I keep getting this error, and its not due to lack of gpu memory...

    t_opencl_(2765) : CUDA error 700 //
    // Error: line 1: V-Ray : [MemoryManagerGpu::releaseUnmappedMemoryFromInstanc e] 700: Could not release device buffer //

    I created a new scene with a sphere, tried to render and got this

    // Warning: V-Ray : No lights in the scene! //
    // Warning: line 1: V-Ray : Error 700 while intializing context for device NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti! Device will not be used for rendering! //
    // Warning: line 1: V-Ray : initDevices() failed. Please check that your system has compatible GPU devices installed. //
    // Warning: line 1: V-Ray : Cancelling GPU rendering! //

    Restarting maya doesnt reset it, restarting PC does.

      Oh, it can be even chrome at background doing something, trust me. I had a loot of that unreportable magic, tho only with vr, not rs. But latest rs crashes on my 3090 all the time with old yeti Vr works... Who is the winner idk.
      I just can't seem to trust myself
      So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

        I must just be lucky - gpu is solid for me in vray 5 (1070+3090, not too heavy archviz). not even using recommended drivers any more. but for quite some time, since 2016/17 when vray was way less stable on gpu I simply used radeon to run displays. might not be a solution for everybody (depending on software used) but imho it did make a difference.
