Visible to GI in VRay 5 object settings problem

Hi,

I have a scene from VRay 3.6 which render like this. And in VRay 5 it render almost black. I have ceiling of a house with visible to GI option turned off. So primary light from VRay sun cant go in, but GI can. In VRay 5 this workflow doesnt work and I dont know why. Something has changed? How can I do that now please?

Try turning off the "Cast shadows" option for the ceiling and see if it helps.

Thank you Vlado. But when I do that, VRay Sun will go through too, right? I dont want that, because after that there will by shadows from walls all over the rooms.

As a workaround, would a Slice modifier work for this scene?
I believe it can be set to respect the shading (so your lighting won't change indoors).

Hi Lele,
I am not sure what you mean exactly. I have ceilling as separate model, but turning off Visible to GI doesnt work anymore for some reason. How this option works now?
I want to try Vray Sky put in dome light and disable compute shadows for ceiling for that light and Vray Sun leave intact, so I hope sky will go through rooms and sun doesnt.

But I dont understand those changes agains previous versions of vray. First Visible to GI works differently and second I cant make reflections different from lighting, because reflections are together with specular.

You asked how to get GI indoors, but not the sun.
The separate roof is Red, as seen in the attached image, the walls geo entirely unaffected by the clipper.
