Hopefully useful tip to avoid end task on GPU failure

So my gpu often works 'fine' and then suddenly glitches with a purple warning making everything unresponsive - can't shut or stop the vfb etc. Presumably when it's just had enough of me wanting to work
Normally I have to end task, which is incredibly annoying.

I found out accidentally today that simply changing to cpu will 'reset' things and I can then switch back to gpu to continue the torture without the need for a restart. Hopefully this'll help others.

EDIT: Sorry, this actually does not work and requires a restart even though it resets the vfb. Nice dream.
