  • Shadow Element not working properly

    Hi,
If I got a coin for every Vray gpu bug...
I am having a problem with rendering shadow render element on vray gpu. Attached is correct Vray Cpu shadow element and GPu shadow element which is obviously wrong.
    Any quick fix for that?

    Hi ensar_huskovic

I am unable to reproduce this with V-Ray Lights, however, testing with 3ds max Standard lights seems to generate such results in GPU. I've logged this into our internal system (ref. number: VGPU-5283) so our devs can have a look and see if support for Standard lights can be added in the future. You can use any VRayLight depending on your needs and it should work fine with VRayShadows both in CPU and GPU mode.

Please do confirm if that's the case with you. If not, best would be to reach us through our contact form and forward us the project files so we can investigate further. Make sure to mention this thread in the email, thanks.

Hi nikoleta.garkova I used vray sun in this scene. can you try with it? I will try to switch to vray light but i think i need that sun because it creates more realistic shadow

You're correct, using VRaySun produces this effect as well. I've added that to the initial report, will let you know when there is any update on the matter. Thanks for the pointer!
