  • V-Ray GPU Error when rendering sequences.

I am constantly encountering errors and am currently unable to render anything out of a scene that was rendering fine earlier today. no settings changed, just fiddling with lights and now my scene wont render with my GPU.
    V-Ray is a fully updated copy of V-Ray 5 in 3DS Max 2021
    GPU is an RTX 3080
I have double and triple checked that the VRAM is not capped out. its really a pretty simple scene. I'll attach the log.

    Things I've Tried:
Closing and Opening scene (Didn't work)
    Restarting Computer (Didn't Work)
Resetting V-Ray settings by switching to V-Ray and then back to V-Ray GPU (Didn't work)
Reimporting the entire scene into a fresh scene. (Didn't work)

Try exporting to .vrsecene and render it via vray.exe. I have so many weird optix stuff going on, that reporting will take ages
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

If it is a simple memory issue I understand, I've gotten scenes to render with GPU before that were simpler. But it doesn't look like that is the error, and as I said I've checked the memory usage while rendering. All my googling skills have failed with coming up with an adequate solution otherwise.

          Hi reece_schultz,

In most cases this should mean you are running out of memory, but since you mentioned that it is a fairly simple scene, can you try to pack it altogether and forward it through our contact form? We will test it out on a similar environment to see if we can reproduce and troubleshoot the issue. Make sure to mention this thread in the email, thanks.

Can you also share information about your GPU driver version? Is there any change if you get the latest recommended GPU drivers?
