  • rt_opencl_(1420): CUDA error 700

    Hello,

I'm using V-Ray GPU with 3ds max 2022 and two GPU's (GeForce RTX 3090 and GeForce RTX 2080Ti). When I start rendering with V-Ray GPU all looks fine but if I edit the geometry or material I got the attached error message.

After that, I must restart 3ds max to render with GPU again. But if I try it on the same way it will happen again.

I'm using the last Nvidia Studio-Drivers (462.31) for my cards.

For testing purposes I changed the engine type from "RTX" to "CUDA" but this makes no diffrenz.

    Please help me.

    Thanks

    Visual Unlimited Hi,

Is it possible go forward the scene file with all the assets through our contact form so we can investigate further? Make sure to mention this thread (or my name) in the email. Much appreciated!

      Hi Nikoleta,

thanks for your message. I found a solution for my problem. After copy all the Elements to a new .max file it seems to work fine. I think there was a problem with the old file.

      Regards,

      Ben

ah came here to try and find the answer, having same issues on small scene
        2 x 3090s
        5950x
        current vray

i would submit to the suport but it takes weeks to get a reply sometimes and as you all know....by that time we have moved on.
soimething to consider for support and for vray GPU which has many errors like this making it hard. also difficult to dedicate 4hrs to bug fixing software

          Hey squintnic,

Sorry to say such errors could mean a lot of things - might be memory issue, might be driver issue and so on - best way we could troubleshoot is to reproduce it in our environment. So if you forward a scene (and give me the ticket number in case you fear it'll get lost among others), we'll be able to review it asap.
