  • VrayMtl's "Coat" makes objects dark

I didn't see a thread posted about this and I didn't find anything mentioned in the help pages so I decided to make a thread about it.

The coat feature doesn't seem to work properly with the GPU renderer. The higher the Coat amount, the darker the objects become. This doesn't happen with the CPU renderer. Please see attached 3ds Max scene and a screenshot that illustrates the problem.

Thank you for the report and provided scene. It seems the Fresnel Reflections are always on when a coat layer is active. The issue is already fixed in the latest internal nightlies.
