  • Invalid hair geometry detected on hair tree construction

I have the warning message "Invalid hair geometry detected on hair tree construction" I have a fairly detailed mesh of petals that I have subdivided with opensubdiv and applied Vray fur to.
Can anybody explain what the message means and how I prevent it?
    3dsmax 2021.3 Update with V-Ray 5.10.02(01) RTX Engine.

Not quite sure. Best you send the scene via the contact form so we can take a look. Address it to me in the subject and mention a link to this thread in the message.

Thanks hermit.crab I have stripped it down and sent you the scene for your attention.

Thank you for the provided scene. Something seems to be wrong with the particular scene's VRayFur that causes this warning to be printed. I've logged the case (internal bug-tracker id: VGPU-5469) so we can investigate further. The warning does not seem to affect the render result, though, so I presume it is safe to continue working.

Thanks hermit.crab for the update thankfully I couldn't see any effect in the render either so it didn't stop me from completing this project a few weeks ago.
