  • Small white dots issue

    Hi, All
I am using RTX 3090 and 3D Max for my render, recently I get this problem with " small white dots" in all my renders, anyone knows the reason or how to fix it?
    Thanks for your support.

Swicth to Vray CPU or try to deal with them in post with glow or despeckling, depends on your image.

i find its scene, lighting and material dependent but vray gpu cant really do clean images like vray CPU

Ok, Im sorry, Im not a fan of Vray GPU but this is not true at all. You can get just as clean a render out of GPU as you can CPU. There are more bugs, and fewer features, less stable RT using GPU, but the final results can be exactly the same (maybe even rendered faster given the hardware variable).

The render issue above looks like it could be related to the the adaptive lighting issue. Try turning off adaptive option in your dome light ( if youre using one). Or try turning light cache to brute force in the GI. Or also try switching from adaptive light to full evaluation in the render settings. If none of those work, it might be something else entirely. These are render bugs, no doubt, so dont try fixing it with glow or bloom or any cheap post effect....unless your client is demanding an image immediately.

...I agree though that switching to CPU render would fix most of the bugs when rendering with GPU...most but not all. What you need to also be aware of is that the settings you use for a clean image on CPU are not the same as the settings needed to get a clean image on GPU, which is why some might think GPU cant make a clean image.
