Vray GPU doesnt seem to allow animation of VRayBlend Material Parameters?

I've tried to animate the blend amount of one material into another and it doesn't seem to see the animated properties - it's either on or off, apparently.
I haven't tested this in CPU mode yet.

Which parameter are you referring to? Both the blend amount and the mask amount seem to be keyable (and work).
