Hey Chaos,
I've been having an issue with Vray GPU shadows when using the object visibility property inside of 3ds Max. (This problem does not exist with the CPU render.)
The object fades correctly, but the shadows don't fade as expected.
Even when the opacity of the object is less than 0.1, the object still casts a dark shadow as though it's opaque. When the parameter hits 0 visibility, the shadow finally disappears.
I've worked around this for the last few months by animating the opacity channel in the material editor, which works just as expected (object fades at the same rate as the shadow). Although this method becomes difficult to manage when animating multiple objects.
Hope you can help! If I'm missing something give me a shout.
Cheers,
Matt
