  • BUG | Light leak issue during GPU + Light Cache + Interacting rendering

    3ds Max 2022
    RTX 3090
    V-Ray 5.20.23

I've been experiencing this weird light leak issue with one of the lights (4th room light) creating a secondary lighting effect in the 1st room (see picture) and can't figure out what's causing it which is also affecting the overall lighting of the sceen as it's creating an additional light into the first room. However, I've confirmed that this only happens when I'm using GPU rendering with light cache enabled and only during interactive rendering. This does not occur with GPU + Brute Force, or CPU mode, or when it's bucket rendering, it's only limited to when I'm GPU + light cache + Interactive mode in the frame buffer.

I've uploaded screenshots and the file so you guys can investigate this and tell me if this an issue on my end or an actual bug itself. Thanks for any and all help.

    Regards

Not sure how that happened, but cloning the "1st room" light and removing the original seems to resolve the issue. Could you test it out? I'll investigate further.

It actually did work, however... it's creating the same problem on a separate light all over again. Like for example, when I clone the 4th room light and delete the original like you said, the light leak reoccurs on the Second Room Side Light. Even stranger, if I repeat the same steps, clone and delete original on the new light, then the light leak switches to another light. So even though the problem is fixed on one light, the light leak pops up on another like it's a virus or something haha. I even tried deleting a few lights to see if it was a multiple light issue, but problem still occurs as well.

So this is a bug correct?

Not quite sure, we'll need to investigate further. I'll write again with more information.

Much appreciated on the follow-up. Please message or e-mail as soon as you resolve that issue. This is just a personal project I'm doing but I've had to stop because of this issue so it would be wonderful to finish it up in the near future. Thanks!
