  • Vray GPU and lots of Tyflow instances

Are there any plans to optimize Vray gpu to work properly with lots of tyflow instances?

I am currently working on a scene with lots of tyflow particles and whenever i try to render these, Vray just gets stuck and won't even start rendering. But when i add a xform modifier to my tycache, it suddenly works perfectly fine. I think because this is because of the xform modifier changing it to 1 object instead of multiple objects (too many drawcalls?)
But that of course doesn't make any sense.

I am currently using Vray 6 update 1.2 from the official download site (no nightlies) icm 3ds max 2024. But too be honest this is already an issue for a while now (vray 5 and maybe even before)

I also tried Redsfhit a while back and this renderer just seems to be way faster with rendering lots of instances / particles / objects. I really prefer most features from Vray GPU above the ones in Redshift, but not being able to properly render lots of particles could be a dealbreaker to make a switch to another engine.

Hopefully this is something that the developers are aware of and is on the roadmap pretty soon?

Hi, thanks for posting. Could you send us a simplified version of the scene that still reproduces the issue trough our support contact form. Please include a link to this thread in the e-mail.
