Applying a material override to my proxy makes the rest of the object black

Hi. I've got a proxy that I want to apply a material override to. When I do this, the rest of the proxy object turns black. Is this a bug or is this feature not supported by the GPU engine yet?

The material override should work in V-Ray GPU. If you override another material does it turn black too?

Yes, it does. Here's an example with another proxy object.

Are you using Multi-Sub object material as override?

No, I'm not. I'm using a V-Ray material which is not part of a Multi-Sub object material.
