It's been a while since I've seen these. 15000 sample limit, noise 0.005, RTX render on latest vray. Any ideas?

This happens when you have Cast Shadows = Off for some of the objects in the scene, could you please confirm this is the case?
This is a known issue on our backlog, which is not easy to fix
On another note, why do you use such a high Samples Limit? it has a big impact on performance. Usually 5000 should do the job for most scenes

No, I have an object with "visible to camera" off though, could that be it?
I don't know I use high samples because I still get too much noise with 0.005 threshold. I don't use denoiser since I don't like it killing the details.www.hrvojedesign.com

Yeah, it was due to that object. Guess will have to fake the gobo or something.
Any suggestions on how to introduce a bit of shadows on the interior sunlight? If I'm using sun/sky system. I can't put a map in the sun, and I guess putting trees just outside the window would have a performance impact. Maybe cut a plane in random shapes?Last edited by Crayox13; 09-09-2024, 04:39 AM.www.hrvojedesign.com

Lowpoly tree in front of the windows I would say, this is how I would achieve the effect myself
I suggest using the Intel Denoiser, it should give you good results if you wanna use low Samples Limit.
Another workaround for this issue is swapping adaptive lights to "Full evaluation" in settings, this will increase the render time although it should get rid of the bucket artifacts
Best,
Muhammed
