  • 572.16 Nvidia Drivers

There's an issue with the current recommended nvidia driver 572.16 where people are having crashing issues. I've experienced the same exact thing as the post below. I've since solved this for myself by downgrading to a previous recommended driver (version 566.14). I recommend Chaos to verify a newer driver version as this issue seems to be fixed in later versions.

Have you had issues/crashes with V-Ray with that driver? I'm on it myself and haven't had the mentioned monitor issues.

The computer essentially crashes and doesn't finish renders because of it. I've had it happen multiple times now where I start a set of renders for overnight, just to come in the next day to the computer not waking up because it crashed and it not finishing the renders.

Mind if you send a sample (via the contact form) scene to test it out here? Maybe it's a memory issue.

It happens regardless of scene or any program running. I've had the crashes without any programs running. The issue is definitely with the drivers since I only started having these issues after i upgraded to the 572.16 drivers, and after I downgraded my drivers, I no longer have the issue and can render the same scenes with nothing changed. It's tied to the computer going 'idle' and the screens turning off. I'm able to render my scenes, there's just a big chance the computer crashes before they're finished overnight or even over my lunch break. If i render my scenes while using the computer and not letting it go 'idle', i have no issues.

            Excuse me for jumping in.

Muhammed_Hamed told me we are in the process of testing new recommended drivers. This issue seems to affect specific monitors. Otherwise, we'll keep it in mind when making our choice.

                Hello,
I have been using Nvidia 576.02 Studio driver for over a week. It is working fine for GPU RTX renderings.
