Vray RT Window black

I know im probably being dopey as this is the first post of its nature.

The title says it all and ive been through the online trouble shooting.

Im running max 2008 on one machine only and have made sure the auto-start local server option is enabled.

Im not sure if the RT server application starts and have tryed starting it from programs>chaos group>Vray RT demo>Vray RT render server.

Any help is much appreciated

Is there any message in the ActiveShade window at all?

Hi Vlado,

No, nothing. Just demo title and a max resolution notice

Ah, there you are then. Just reduce the resolution to 320x240 for the demo and it should be fine.

Haha many thanks Vlado, that one was probably kind of obvious.

Its still black with resize however and now It says waiting for image data. Seems similar to the another post in this section.

Ok, things to check are if there if there is a console with the RT render server open; (if yes, does it say anything?), if not, is there a render server registered as a Windows service?

Not sure if the register render servers as a windows service did anything, but opening the vray RT render server did the job.
