CPU used constantly

When i have activeshade on (with Vray RT), my CPU is running all the time at about 90% - this happens even when i am not doing anything in Max. Is this normal ?

Yes, V-Ray RT continually improves the image while the ActiveShade window is open. For the next update we will be adding a time limit for this.

Ideally the user would be allowed to specify two parameters - both a maximum time limit and also a quality setting - so it would stop processing as soon as it hits a specific time or a specific degree of image clarity
