  • VrayRT 1.50SP1 + Max design 2010 = CRASH

    Hi,

I finally managed to download latest vray (sp4) and vrayRT (sp1) versions and installed them. Vray works fine. But when I try to activate vrayRT, max instantly crashes, every time. This happens when I click on the button to assign vrayRT to ActiveShade. I don't even get the window to choose the engine to assign : max crashes as soon as I click the "..." button.

I tried uninstalling only vrayRT, and I could access the assign renderer again.

Then reinstalled vrayRT, and the probleam reappeared : impossible to use vrayRT.

So at the moment I'm trying to download previous version of RT again to see if it works.

My version of 3ds max is Design 2010 SP1 with latest hotfix installed. Don't know if that matters but it's a french version.

PS : due to chaosgroup server problems I thought that maybe my vrayRT install file was corrupt and redownloaded it for the second install. But that didn't change anyhting.

Do you have a non-English version of 3ds max?

    Best regards,

Apparently there is some issue with non-English versions; we are looking into it right now.

        Best regards,

          Thanks vlado

Hope that this is not a too big issue.
For the moment I'll switch back to the previous versions of the plugins.

So we found the problem now with non-English versions of 3ds Max (there was a problem with one of the menu items we are trying to add); we will have to release a patch for this, hopefully this will happen around the end of this week.

            Best regards,
            Vlado

Hello, I work in 3ds max 2009 version and I have the same problem as you.
when I launch my start using it must first select it in the Assign Renderer rollout found in Render Setup dialog, 3ds max crash.

Did you find a solution to your Probem?

                Sincerely, Olivier

The solution is to get you an updated builds of V-Ray RT; you will have to email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com for more details.

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

Hey, I thought that update would be posted in the download section.
It's only available upon request ??

Yes, it will be posted, of course; just tracking one or two issues that cropped up (like this one).

                      Best regards,
