  • DR problems with Vray RT

    Hi all

I have a local network with 2 machines; my workstation and a render slave. I've managed to set it up so DR is working perfectly with VRay - the render, but I can't get it to work with Vray RT.

The Vray RT render Server on my slave, gives me this message:
....98 plugins loaded succesfully. Finished loading plugins.
error: Failed to start network server: Failed to open listening port (0)
    Exiting server mode.
    Closing log - 1 error(s)...

What is this error message trying to tell me? I have set up everything the way the manual told me - at least I think I have. And I'm guessing it's not network problems from my side, as DR works with the render.

Are you using ip's or server names in your dr list? You cant use names, you need to type in the ip adresses of the slaves.

You might need to the V-Ray RT render server to the Windows firewall program exceptions; if you have other firewalls/antivirus programs, they might also be blocking the server.

Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately they didn't work. I tried reinstalling RT on my server and that did the trick, so now it's working.
