I´m not sure if anyone has had this issue before. We had a fireplace to do here at the office and the client asked for the fire to be ignited. Deadline + rush job - enough people = sloppy copy. We ended up using the setup for a fireplace in one of the Archinteriors Library. It has 4 lights pointing to the logs with a texture on the texture slot. Worked out alright on the render but later when I went back for some changes and tried to use RT with it it crashed within max. "Error running RT" or something. Didn´t even load the local RT.
I started to peel all the objects from the scene to see where it failed. I literally had to delete these 4 lights for it to work. Hiding them would not resolve the issue, had to delete them. Ended up changing the view so we didn't need a workaround.
