    hi,
so i launched RT to play around some more..
i activate it on the viewport used to see thru VrayPhysCam..
move Cam around, everything lookin' smooth... until i select some other object or simply deselect the Cam..
CPU load will drop to 0% n i am forced to reactivate RT in order for it to keep doing its thing..
also, if i use my mouse wheel on the Perspective viewport to zoom in/out, RT will change its view from CamView to Perspective view..

    ok, thats it so far..

When I purchased VrayRT this time last year, I got SOOO frustrated with it, that i have never used it again.
Now that VrayRT GPU is being released, its probably time to start using it again.

      I'm certainly not a tech head, so I may have overlooked some basic settings, but based on my limited troubleshooting experience with Vray RT, when I would launch RT, I could never get an accurate representation of the final render;
      1. the lighting and materials would be significantly different (nothing like my final render)
      2. RT wouldn't recognise xrefs (as my workflow revolves around xreffing scenes into my master file -- major pain!!)
      3. ies lighting would not work properly.

Hopefully these issues have been resolved since I used the plugin? I love the concept of vray RT, the potential for tweaking scenes is awesome.... but I am getting older, and I have very little patience when it comes to troubleshooting.

I just want, and expect plugins to work. My problems may be an isolated case. If RT has been dramatically improved in the last 6 months, please let me know and I will give it another go.

Can you get me an example? We've tested it on a wide range of scenes and the results are very close.

There is an option to render X-Ref scenes now.

Can you show me an example? Works fine for me here.

Nope; we can add this relatively easily, but in that case we cannot use their instancing properties yet (i.e. they will just be copies of the geometry).

heh, i didnt mean to say what should be added next, was simply wondering if it was supported or not..
but now that u mention it, about not using instancing, im guessing that would add a lot of overload? to the RAM or whatever..

Yep, it will eat the RAM very quickly.
