I'm trying to upgrade my license server so that I can use the GPU beta, but I get an error message during the install.
I have a Windows Server 2003 machine that has the VRay dongle and is running the VRay license Server. The license server has several VRay 1.5 SP5 licenses as well as several VRayRT 1.5 SP2 licenses. I have downloaded 'vrayrt_adv_19001_max2011_x86_12725.exe'. When I run the installer it properly detects that I only have the license server installed, and so it gives me the option to upgrade the license server. It then begins the install, copying a bunch of files, but stops with the following error message:
An error occurred during the installation.
Do you want to undo changes made to your system?
Choosing yes reverts the changes. I tried creating and submitting a .wbc, but I got an email back saying that they were "unable to fulfill your request", probably because I have not successfully upgraded the license server. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the license server from 'vray_adv_150SP5_max2011_x86.exe', but the RT GPU upgrade still fails. I even deleted all V-Ray folders from 'C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\' after an uninstall attempt. If I uninstall the license server, the RT GPU installer only gives me the two slave install options. The License server option is greyed out.
I am stopping the license server service each time I do this, so the error is not because the service is still running. What am I doing wrong?
