  • RT CPU no GI problem

I've just installed vray 2.0 along with RT and tried a simple scene to find out that RT GPU is giving me an error "Unsupported: GI is disabled" - although it seems it renders fine. But when I switch to CPU it renders what it seems to be a scene without GI. I've attached the two renders. Am I missing something?

I'm testing this on a quad core q9550 with 8GB of ram and a GTX 275 card. Nvidia drivers version is: 260.99

You need to enable GI in the production V-Ray renderer settings. V-Ray RT for CPU considers this setting and will render with or without GI as specified. V-Ray RT GPU will always render with GI, but will print the above warning if GI is disabled in the production renderer settings. Basically the warning means "GI is disabled in the production renderer, I don't support this and will still render with GI". I can see where it can be confusing though.

    Best regards,

Thanks Vlado. I should have spent more time and I'd probably figured it out, but what would be the use of forums then.
