  • warning: scene is empty

Working on an animation and all of a sudden RT stops rendering geometry and reports
    warning: scene is empty.
I can see a background image or the HDR of the dome light but no geometry.
I had a basic 128grey vray mat as an override, but have been using RT on earlier versions ok.

Just checked back a few incremental saves and they work with RT. In the space of about 15mins (between a version that works and one that doesn't) the geometry no longer renders with RT.
Renders fine doing a full production render.
I can open another file and that will RT ok. Even creating a new primitive doesn't show up in the corrupt RT version.
    What's going on?

Is the geometry frozen or hidden or something like this? Does it work if you re-assign V-Ray RT as a renderer? If you still have issues, just send us the scene to vray@chaosgroup.com and we'll try to figure it out.

    Best regards,

No nothing like that, it was probably a corrupt file. When I have tried merging it all into a new file RT began was working again and another problem, with some particles, cleared itself too. Thks for the help, as always, though Vlado.

Ah ok - sorted it. Motion blur!! not a corrupt file. When you have motion blur ticked in the vray camera settings - the scene will render without geometry, which is confusing to a stupid person. I've checked and motion blur isn't a supported feature but I guess a helpful flag in the RT window to say so might be useful, or can you just ignore the motion blur and render as normal?
