  • Urgent BUG Focus and network rendering

    Hello,

I'm rendering an animation with a lot of camera moves with keyframed terget.
My target is used to specify the focus plan.

When i'm rendering from 3DSMAX, with RT GPU, it's ok .
But when i submit to backburner, the focus plan isn't follow my target.
I've also try with parameter wiring from target distance to control focus distance with specify focus enabled, but it's worst.

I think we have a big bug here.
some keyframed or varying data aren't transfered correctly when use backburner.

I need backburner to send my scenes to my render farm.
    Have you a fix ?

Can you get me an example scene to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that I can fix it?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

even with DOF turn off, the rendered picture is different when using backburner instead of sending the render from 3DSMAX.
It's look like the animated camera target distance from camera isn't saved or used by backburner.
the camera look at the good point, but the focal is different and this cause objects appear more closely than expected.

It's a big annoying issue to use vrayrt with backburner .
I haven't time to try with a standard camera because i'm on a deadline.
Maybe it's a vray physical camera > backburner bug ?

          Any news ?
It's hard to respect a deadline without the ability to use the renderfarm with backburner .
I have use DR all the night and days, and now it's buggy . Some part of the picture are darker , my network is working, all map are found ...

I hope that is a easy to solve thing

I'm just watching my weekend disappear in front of my eyes due to this bug.
I have an animated focus distance and when I submit the render to the farm, (deadline, not backburner) the renders come out completely different.
At first I had a script controller in the focus distance then I baked it to a standard bezier float with even worse results.

            Would a sample scene help?

It's already fixed in the V-Ray 2.10 builds on our site.

              Best regards,
              Vlado

                What build is this?
Our farm has 20101 but it is still broken.

Which revision in particular do you use? Can you get me a scene just to verify that it's ok?

                  Best regards,
                  Vlado

I downloaded the latest nightly build this morning and installed it on the farm.
I am still getting the problem.
We are on deadline 5 but I'm not sure that that has anything to do with it. When I render in workstation mode, it still fails.

Can you get me a scene then and some more instructions how to reproduce this?

                      Best regards,
