I've only just got around to trying out Vray RT and on this test scene the vray plane is visible when I use CPU rendering but not when I use GPU rendering. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hmmm...apparently it's one of those circumstances in which RT/GPU is not yet supporting anything that creates toplology at render time - like displacement, for instance.

      My best guess...Vlado?

thanks for the reply alan but there's no mention of it not being supported here:

Right. That's because the page you reference is specific to RT in general, not just RT/GPU. As you have seen, the Vray plane works just fine in RT/CPU.

If you look at this page, which is RT/GPU specific: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/rt100/render_gpu.htm you'll find this:

          Geometry
          Only triangle meshes are supported.

Since the Vray plane only creates a renderable surface at render time, I'd imagine that it is not being considered a triangle mesh by RT/GPU.

I hope they can include it soon, though!

thanks alan, i missed that. odd that one of vray's most basic elements isn't supported stright away.
