  • RT animation Preview Render not working

I'm trying to render a preview animation with RT using the Vray RT animation Preview render script that came with vray 2.0, and It's only rendering out 1 frame then nothing. I opened the listener and this is what it says

-- Error occurred in vrayRTImageComplete(); filename: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max Design 2012\scripts\startup\vrayrtutils.ms; position: 5519; line: 177
    -- Frame:
    -- reason: 1
    -- b: BitMap:C:\Temp\frame0000.png
    -- called in anonymous codeblock
    -- Frame:

am I doing something wrong? any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm sorry if this doesn't help you with your specific problem - but just in case this helps: I've been rendering previews using RT as the production renderer with a very small Max paths per pixel setting. Depending on your scene, you can get some pretty dang fast render times, and still be able to see plenty of lighting and such along with your motion.

    Hope it helps,

Like Alan suggested, using V-Ray RT as production renderer might work better in V-Ray 2.0; still, if you can get us the problem scene to vray@chaosgroup.com, we'll try to figure out what's the problem.

      Best regards,

        Thanks Alan,

Your method worked well for what I'm looking for.

Good to hear...I've been having a blast with this, actually. I've been previewing some character animation and it is so cool to see the preview in full rendered splendor - even if it is a bit noisy!

I've just tried using the Vray RT animation Preview render as well. The first time it went well, but the second time it rendered the same frame for about 5sec/150frames out of 14sec!

When I look at the sequence in After Effects, I can see that it actually zooms in just a tiny bit - so not exactly the same frame. Strange error!

Can you give me some more detailed steps to reproduce the problem?

                Best regards,
