  • Mesh artifacts appear when using CUDA or OpenCL

    I'm getting black artifacts on this imported CAD object when using VRay r/t in GPU mode. Same results with both OpenCL and CUDA. Only when I switch to CPU mode do the artifacts vanish.

    Even with a new VRaymtl applied (default settings) the artifacts appear when rendered with a GPU mode. It's not isolated to just one area or mesh either, it's all over the meshes. Unfortunately I just can't show more of the render.

    Is this with motion blur or without? How far away from the origin is your model?

      There is no motion blur active. The model is unrealistically scaled, but not to an out of the world/high degree. Meaning, the vehicle is about 1900cm / 748" tall (yikes..I know, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to change the scale). For location, it's centered on the world coordinates 0,0,0.

      For the sake of testing I did scale the model down to a realistic value via the xform modifier. Doing so DID decrease the artifacts, but did not completely eliminate them.

        How would 1900 cm translate into generic scene units (sorry should have worded this better)? In any case, I really need some way to reproduce this here...
