    Hello,
    while trying to use RT in the pipeline, on a very basic mate scene setup, we face hard time to make it work properly.
    The active shade window is not interactively update. We need to, if lucky, close active shade + RT render, then start active shade again to get the material updated; or, restart max if we are unlucky.
    the material is just a basic blend material, nothing heavy or special.
    We also notice, that the material preview window did not update too (on Vray adv engine and since a long time in fact). The manual update is the only way to get the material preview works!
    I may post this problem into vray for Max, but just let you know in case there is a link between the 2 problems.

    What is your lighting setup?
    I found out (and haven't reported the bug yet, my bad) that if you use sun and sky with the sky in a vray dome, the inter-activeness is breaking and you need to restart RT to have it updating the material.
    The only fix I found is to put the Vray sky in the environment till I finish tweaking in RT, then I can turn it back on in the VrayDome for my final output.
    I will do a proper post with a basic file when I've got time to report this, I don't know if this is your case, but if it is, it might help you for the time being.

      Thanks for the tips, but no, it's a very basic studio setup:
      1 vray dome light map with an HDR & 2 vray plane.

          I can send you the scene.
          As per RT, sometime the scene update, sometime not.
          As per Preview, it never update whatever the scene (even with an empty scene and only one vray mat in the node material!

          Step for RT as follow:
          Open the scene
          Open material editor in Node mode
          Open active shade (Cuda)
          Launch a vrayblendmat and play with it.

          Sometime it update, sometime not and as seen on the previous screenshoot, the production render did not return the same result than RT.
          Restarting max may solve the issues, but after some time, the problem is back.

            Yes, a scene would be helpful in any case. Also, which 3ds Max version is this?

                  I notice that ortho view bug more than perspective view (whatever the scene).

                      That was on another scene.

                      But I believe, it is a max problem, because when max restart,the problem can't be reproduced.
