  • V-Ray RT Preview Animation Not works.

    Hi all.

I'm testing V-Ray RT Animation Preview, but only makes 1 frame and stops the Render (The animation is 94 frames)
... I try with CPU and CUDA but not works for me.

    3DS Max 2014 SP5
    V-Ray 3.00.03 NFR

    Any solution?

Can you try a newer build? I think we fixed something in that regard.

    Best regards,

Not works Vlado, the same as 3.00.03 with 3.00.05, only makes 1 Frame (start frame only).

It's fine in my tests, can you send me your scene ? peter.matanov@chaosgroup.com
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

              Hi all,
I have the same problem, also with a simple scene with only a teapot. The problem persist with max 2014 and 2015 with vray 3.00.07. Have you solved somehow ?

              Thank you

Same problem now. I'm testing RT Animation Preview in Production Render, but only makes me frame 0... and when I close and open the RT animation Preview Settings window, not works. I need to restart 3DS Max to try another time... and not works...

Same answer buddy Works just fine in my tests (same max and vray versions). Send me your scene and I will test it again.

                        Hi again,
I have to do a preview anim with RT but again the same problem: render frame 0 than block on frame 1. I try to restart max and try with an empty scene and do the same so it's not a scene problem but something else.
The strange thing is that 2 days ago it worked, but i don't change anything on my workstation
The problem is both CPU or CUDA mode

3DS Max 2015 sp3, vray 3.10.03, quadro k5200, dual monitor (don't know if this could be a problem)

I don't know what to do, but help me please, because i need to do this preview animation

                        Thank you

                          You have two other options.

First one is to simply set V-Ray RT as a production renderer and just render as normal animation (make sure you select CUDA as the engine if you want GPU render).

The second option is to render with V-Ray Standalone. Right-click in the viewport that you want to render, and select ".vrscene exporter", enter a file name in the first field, something like "c:\temp\test.vrscene", turn on "export animation" and select the wanted frame range, then click "Export" (not "Export and render"). After that, open a command prompt (Start menu > Run... > type "cmd" without the quotes), and on the command prompt, type the following (this is just one line):
                          Code:
                          "c:\Program Files\Chaos Group\V-Ray\RT for 3ds Max 2015 for x64\bin\vray.exe" -scenefile=c:\temp\test.vrscene -imgfile=d:\temp\test_out.png -rtengine=5 -rtsamplelevel=100
where you need to replace the scene name and the final image output with suitable values. -rtengine=5 means the CUDA engine, and -rtsamplelevel is the number of passes that you want.

                          Best regards,
                          Vlado

                            Hi Vlado,
I didn't try the first option, but the second one works good!

                            Thank you

Ps.: what do you think could be my problem on vray rt animation preview ?

                              Hi Vlado,
I see a little problem: vray render the anim, but overwrite the same image file, how could i tell him to generate image frames ?

                              Thank you

                              Sprawl

Edit: Ok I found the standalone help file. I added this command: "-noFrameNumbers=1" and now works
