  • VRayRT crashing on Titan X

We are still on 2.50.01 and hopefully upgrading soon. Anyways, I recently got a new computer and I can't get VRayRT to run at all in any GPU mode (OpenCL or CUDA).

    3DS Max 2014, VRay 2.50.01, Titan X w/ Driver 350.12, Windows 7 x64
Dual Xeon E5-2670 v3 processors w/ 128GB RAM, M.2 SSD for OS drive

I can get VRayRT to work just fine with the CPU, but neither Cuda or OpenCL will run. Crashing VRay.exe has stopped working error.

I was able to get a screen grab right before I crashed this last time to see the error codes:
    Driver API error: 209
    Driver API Error: 400

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I don't know if this is another "more than 32 cpu cores" issue or something else. THANKS!!

I thought I read that the 350.12 was still okay?

I will dig for an older version and give it a go.

Maybe it is for Vray 3.x but not 2.x?
As the titan X is a fairly new one, I hope you'll find a older driver that supports it but bot sure you'll be able to go far back :-/

          The driver is okay.
It is just that we've added support for Maxwell GPUs only in the nightly builds for 2.5, so the one from the download section of chaosgroup.com is not going to work.
Please ask the support for access to the 2.5 nightlies (if you don't have already) using support@chaosgroup.com and include link to this topic.

AH! Thanks Blagovest! I don't have access to the nightlies, but I will request them.

Though this does give me a nice reason to, once again, push for getting the VRay 3 Upgrade!

Thanks guys! I appreciate all the help!
