You have to give more details. Which is the host application, what is the V-Ray version, what is the driver version, what GPU do you have ?
Does it happen with every scene or with a specific one ?

Usually the messages in the V-Ray log give as much information as possible. For example, if you run out of mem that will be reported as "not enough memory" error.
If the error is not clear, as in your case, it is hard to say what exactly happened. If this happens on a particular scene, I guess it could be a bug in V-Ray.
Is it possible to send the scene to the support so we can take a look at it ?
